Ok I had this idea years ago but today I am finally going to do it. I will put the music player of choice on shuffle and post what comes up. It should be interesting with more than 20,000 tracks to randomly come up. There will be no do overs… This is it.

1. Me First and the Gimme Gimmes Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old) (Audio only)

I love the Me First ant the Gimme Gimmes. They are the ultimate cover band especially if you love punk/rock interpretations. This cover is of Garth Brooks first hit song.

2. Bowling for Soup – Val Kilmer

These guys must of had a horrible time in High School since most of their songs are related to it.  This is another classic.

3. Neil Diamond – Forever in Blue Jeans

This is my favorite Neil Diamond song.  It’s simple acoustic guitar riff mixed with Diamond’s voice makes it an instant classic.  Will Ferrell sang it in a Gap commercial.

4. Social Distortion – Story of My Life

Apparently there is a lot of punk in my collection.

5. Whitesnake – Here I Go Again (acoustic)

6. Drive By Truckers – Sounds Better in a Song

7. Erasure – My Heart…So Blue

Nothing better than a sappy love song from the 80’s. It reminds me of my Freshman year in college.

8. Jimi Hendrix – Fire (Woodstock)

Man could he play…

Despite its sexual overtones, the song had an innocuous origin, stemming from a cold New Year’s Eve in Folkestone, England after a gig. Noel Redding, bass player for The Jimi Hendrix Experience invited Jimi and Cathy as guests at his mother’s house. Jimi asked her if he could stand next to her fireplace to warm himself. She agreed, but her Great Dane was in the way, hence the line, “Aw, move over, Rover, and let Jimi take over…” (“Electric Gypsy”) Source: Wikipedia

9. Elvis -Crying

This is cover of Roy Orbison’s “Crying.”

10. Laura Marling – Rambling Man

I just added this to my collection a few days ago.
