The BYU University of Utah is rivalry is well known and this year it gets a little uglier. Brigham Young University quarterback Max Hall speaks his mind.
After beating the Utes in overtime with a 25 yard pass play, Max Hall pours the gasoline on the rivalry and lights the match.
“I don’t like Utah. In fact, I hate them. I hate everything about them. I hate their program, their fans. I hate everything. It felt really good to send those guys home.” BYU Quarterback Max Hall said after the game.
“I think the whole university and their fans and the organization is classless,” Hall said. “They threw beer on my family and stuff last year and did a whole bunch of nasty things. I don’t respect them and they deserved to lose.” Source ESPN
Mountain West Conference will probably reprimand Hall for being less than loving and expressing it in the post game, but he didn’t seem too concerned. The MWC has disciplined BYU players for less this year.
The Cougars (10-2, 7-1) beat the Utes (9-3, 6-2) for the third time in four years, and it was the last regular-season game of the senior’s career. Last year Max Hall single handedly helped Utah win with his mind blowing 5 interceptions.
Max Hall’s quotes will probably be motivation for the University of Utah football team to stick it to BYU next season.
I don’t know how much bragging Max Hall can do. Hall and the Cougars barely escaped with a win after a miserable second half. BYU’s play calling was bad. Why change things that were working? The offense was anemic the whole game. Hall had a crappy night. The Utes also seemed to be a tad penalty prone or the officials may have been a tad touchy.
I think it was in poor taste to slam Utah even if they might deserve it.
