us-attorney-general-eric-gun-ban-holderAttorney General Eric Holder told reporters yesterday, "As President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make."

What does that mean: Just a Few?

AG Eric “Gun Ban” Holder said the most important one is the re-enactment of the federal assault weapons ban, which expired in 2004. The 1994 Assault Weapons Ban President Clinton signed into law banned 19 types of semi-automatic military-style guns and ammunition clips with more than 10 rounds.

The ban stopped the sale of such mass killing features as a bayonet lug, flash supressors, and the extremely scary and deadly pistol grip. When was the last time you heard of someone being killed in America by a bayonet? Flash suppressor doesn’t make a gun more deadly niether does a pistol grip. Its similar to saying red paint on a car driven by a drunk driver makes it more deadly. It just doesn’t.

My favorite part of Herr Holder is… his mouth. It appears he let the cat out of the bag with these statements yesterday. Some of my favorite parts…

"I think that will have a positive impact in Mexico, at a minimum." Holder said at a news conference on the arrest of more than 700 people in a drug enforcement crackdown on Mexican drug cartels operating in the U.S.

Mexican government officials have complained that the availability of sophisticated guns from the United States have emboldened drug traffickers to fight over access routes into the U.S.

Holder described his discussions with his Mexican counterpart about the recent spike in violence.

"I met yesterday with Attorney General Medina Mora of Mexico, and we discussed the unprecedented levels of violence his country is facing because of their enforcement efforts," he said.

First off I don’t give a rats pajama about what is happening in Mexico. Let them kill themselves. I do find it ironic that the current administration that is so desperately trying to revive the economy is now squishing the sale of guns in the US to Mexicans. I guess there goes one of our few exports. I also find it interesting that Mexico has strict gun control laws. I really don’t think guns are the problem with the violence in Mexico, its the drug trade. Maybe Attorney General Eric “gun ban” Holder could do more to fight the demand for drugs from Mexico.

Finally lets read from the current US State Departments Warning about travel in Mexico.

Violence Along the U.S. – Mexico Border

Mexican drug cartels are engaged in an increasingly violent conflict – both among themselves and with Mexican security services – for control of narcotics trafficking routes along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Some recent Mexican army and police confrontations with drug cartels have resembled small-unit combat, with cartels employing automatic weapons and grenades.  Large firefights have taken place in many towns and cities across Mexico but most recently in northern Mexico, including Tijuana, Chihuahua City and Ciudad Juarez.  This restriction was implemented in light of the recent increase in assaults, murders, and kidnappings in those two statesA number of areas along the border are experiencing rapid growth in the rates of many types of crime.  Robberies, homicides, petty thefts, and carjackings have all increased over the last year across Mexico generally, with notable spikes in Tijuana and northern Baja California

Does the new United States Attorney General really believe that the Mexican Cartel purchased fully automatic weapons and grenades from local US gun stores? I have seen a lot of guns. I have never seen anyone with fully automatic weapon and or grenades. Not at the gun store not at the gun show no where have I seen them. Why? Because these are very highly regulated pieces of equipment. Semi-automatic weapons are difficult to convert to fully automatic. It takes an extreme expertise as well as building and machining of parts to do it. Its a myth by the anti-gun movement.

Is no one in America outraged that our Attorney General wants to remove the 2nd amendment because its good for Mexico?  This is outrageous.

Maybe AG Holder could let the ATF do their jobs.  SEE Lying To Buy Firearms Lands Alamo Man In Federal Prison

And one final thought: With a name like Armando Villagomez Jr seems like he might be um hispanic.
