I can’t get “Put Your Money On Me” by the Struts outta my head

A friend of mine sent me a simple email and all it said was “Here is a song I want to share with you.”  For the last 3 days I can’t stop playing their music. The band is called  The Struts. The music is catchy as hell. I wanted their CD but apparently its an expensive import so when I get home I will download the album from Google Play.

Put Your Money On Me

Lyrics

It’s true baby I sleep ’til noon for breakfast
I have a little smoke then I get up and go
And yes I’m always two hours late late work babe
It’s hard being a slave to your body and soul

You know I’m only bragging
Boss is always nagging
My ass is dragging but they don’t know
You think I’ve kinda messed you round
But I’ll never let you down
So have some faith in sticking around
Sticking around!

I bet your body’s so sweet (oh yeah)
So roll your dice with my feet (oh yeah)
Well when and where our eyes meet (oh yeah)
You’ve got that hand I can’t beat (oh yeah)

So put your money on me
Put your money on me
So put your money on me
Put your money on me

I know I’ve got a bad bad reputation
I’m not afraid to look a girl right in the eye
And so I’ll tell you for your information
Just know I’m not that kind of guy

Let’s start a revolution
This ain’t no illusion
Your disillusion will turn me around
So yeah I like to flirt girl
Don’t forget that you’re my world
So keep the faith of sticking around
Sticking around!

I bet your body’s so sweet (oh yeah)
So roll your dice with my feet (oh yeah)
Well when and where our eyes meet (oh yeah)
You’ve got that hand I can’t beat (oh yeah)

So put your money on me
Put your money on me
So put your money on me
Put your money on me

I bet your body’s so sweet (oh yeah)
So roll your dice with my feet (oh yeah)
Well when and where our eyes meet (oh yeah)
You’ve got that hand I can’t beat (oh yeah)

I bet your body’s so sweet (oh yeah)
So roll your dice with my feet (oh yeah)
Well when and where our eyes meet (oh yeah)
You’ve got that hand I can’t beat (oh yeah)

So put your money on me
Put your money on me
So put your money on me
Put your money on me

Before even releasing their first album, U.K.-bred four-piece The Struts opened for The Rolling Stones in front of a crowd of 80,000 in Paris, got hand-picked by Mötley Crüe to serve as the supporting act for their four last-ever performances, and toured the U.S. on a string of sold-out shows that demanded the band move up to bigger venues to accommodate their fast-growing fanbase. Now with their full-length debut Everybody Wants, lead vocalist Luke Spiller, guitarist Adam Slack, bassist Jed Elliott, and drummer Gethin Davies reveal the supreme mix of massive riffs and powerfully catchy melodies that’s already slain so many adoring audiences around the globe.

“Every time we go into the studio we just want to channel exactly what we’re all about onstage—something big, fun, unapologetic, rock & roll. We love a song that makes everybody sing along, and touring quite extensively over the past few years has given us a lot of inspiration to bring that kind of energy to our album.” -Luke Spiller

Influenced by Queen, the Rolling Stones, Def Leppard, Oasis, and The Libertines, The Struts have been described as “unabashedly over the top retro-fetishist classic rock”, “glamourous and dangerous”, and as “having a chance to spark a real rock revival with their hooky glam sound, which manages to pay tribute to the classics, while remaining impeccably modern” 1
