Why the New Site?

I have had a website since 1997.  I wish I had copies of those early days as a contrast to today.  I unfortunately cannot remember my tripod user name from my first site so I can’t find it. I purchased the domain name eransworld. com in 2002.  I thought it was time to grow up and have a real domain name and not a bairden.tripod.com   This is the first documented version I could find  http://web.archive.org/web/20040402000617/www.eransworld.com/index.htm

In 2004 I replaced this design with a version of the site I just replaced  Old SIte,  And now this design.  i am not sure that this is the final version but I do like it.  I have converted my website from being static html and images including using blogger.com for the blog content to being completely CSS and Database driven.  I started using blogger in 2003 when blogging was fairly new.  Unforatunately blogger didn’t update my site well. I had over 500 posts and it sometimes took an hour just to make a change in my format.  It had become to unwieldy so I pledged to change when ever I got around to it. I was hoping to convert my blogger blog to wordpress but it didn’t work so I will just continue to link to my past content.
I decided to use wordpress because it is free and quite robust. I host it on a Canadian webhost that I have been with since I bought eransworld so long ago.  They are quite cheap and have been plenty to run a silly little website. I had to upgrade accounts to gain a database but at $99 a year for hosting it seems affordable. My main revenue is through adwords and Amazon Associates.  Those two sources more than pay for all 20 domain names and hosting that I own every year.  Mostly this site serves two purposes.
1.) Experiment with Web Design and Programming
2.) An outlet for my writing, picture taking and venting.
Hope You Enjoy..
