All I want for Christmas is...

I really didn't know what I wanted for Christmas this year. I thought maybe a lift for the jeep. My wife isn't normally good at surprises... Either that or I am too paranoid to allow her to suprise me. I don't know but on November 29, she gave me a huge surprise. The Jeep needed an oil change and needed one badly. It had changed from fall to winter and I hadn't gotten around to changing the oil. She said she would swap me cars and take it in to get the rear defrost fixed under warranty (I had 200 miles left on the bumper to bumper.) and an oil change. There is something about laying on a cold garage floor under a car when the abient air temperature is 20F. She gave me some lame story about getting a free oil change for dog training. Yeah I wasn't paying attention. I had been battling a cold and was very tired. I just wanted my defrost fixed. Anyway the truth was.. she had purchased on her own a 2008 Jeep Rubicon 4-Door as my Christmas present. Boy was I surprised beyond belief. I came home after a long crappy day to a car with a bow in my garage.

Eran's 2008 Jeep JK 4Door What the... For once my wife made me speechless (a very rare occurance for a bigmouth) and in a good way...

The 2005 Jeep Rubicon 2 door I was driving didn't fit the family. Sydney's car seat didn't fit. Zach (Our 15 year old 6'2" foster child) sure didn't fit in the back. In the last two summers I have been out jeeping very little. I have missed it terrible. It is something I have loved to do since buying my first jeep in 1993.

I guess this means I need to find her a real gift for Christmas...

Here I am pulling up to the garage.

I love this photo. It shows true surprise and nothing like the humble pie that comes with aging and looking like a goof. *2008 Jeeps make one look fatter than they feel in photos...

Sydney and I the next day with her new jeep. Anytime she sees it she says "Sydney's Jeep. *2008 Jeeps make one look fatter than they feel in photos...
